KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarten is available for students who turn 5 years old on or before September 1st.

transitional kindergarten

State legislation requires SMUSD to provide Transitional Kindergarten only to students who turn 5 years old between September 2 to February 2. Transitional Kindergarten is a two year program designed to give students time to acquire the necessary skills for kindergarten. The curriculum will address the Common Core State Standards. Following a year in Transitional Kindergarten, your child MUST enroll in a regular Kindergarten. Families should register at their home school.

STUDENT TRANSFER PERMITS

Applications are available online through March 24, 2023:

Intradistrict transfer applications are available for those who live WITHIN SMUSD boundaries wishing to attend a school other than their school of residence.

Interdistrict transfer applications are available for those who live OUTSIDE of our district boundaries wishing to attend a SMUSD school (transfers between school districts).
